At the First Congregational Church Wareham we are moved by
the Holy Spirit and the teaching of Jesus to go outside the physical
constraints of the four walls of the church and the time limits of our Sunday worship
service to humbly go forth and be God’s love in the world by helping others Our projects take us near and far.
Every Wednesday volunteers from our church serve a fellowship breakfast to nourish the bodies and souls of those who come to the Fellowship Hall.
Once a month our farm crew volunteers at the
Sharing the Harvest Farm in Dartmouth, which is a farm to food pantry effort. We have provided hurricane relief
kits to victims of Hurricane Sandy and blankets (through Church World Service) to
areas hit by natural disasters. We
donate to organizations such as Habitat for Humanity, Damien’s Food Pantry, and
the South Shore Women’s Center. This is
not an exhaustive list, and we always have an eye out for people in need.
